Ingredients

Scale

115.25 oz. white cake mix, including ingredients to make prepared cake–eggs and vegetable oil

115.25 oz. German Chocolate cake mix, including ingredients to make prepared cake–eggs and vegetable oil

15.1 oz. instant vanilla pudding mix, including milk to prepare pudding

1 package white or golden sandwich cookies (about 36 cookies)*

Blue or green food coloring

Tootsie Roll candy (about 8-12 pieces)

Clean, unused cat litter box pan

Clean, unused cat litter box scoop

Instructions

Prepare and bake both cake mixes (white and German Chocolate) according to the box instructions.  Let cool to room temperature.

Prepare instant vanilla pudding according to the box instructions.  Refrigerate until set.

Using a food processor or blender, crush sandwich cookies until sandy in texture.  Place 1 cup of crushed cookies in a zip-top plastic bag.  Add 7-10 drops of blue or green food coloring to cookies.  Shake until evenly colored.  (If some cookies aren’t colored, it’s okay.)

To assemble cake, crumble white and German Chocolate cake into a large bowl.   Add about half of the uncolored cookie crumbs and half of the colored crumbs to the crumbled cake.  Mix in the vanilla pudding to make the cake moist.  It shouldn’t be soggy.  Pour into clean, unused cat litter box pan and spread evenly.

Unwrap and microwave Tootsie Rolls for about 15-30 seconds to make them soft and pliable.  Shape the candy into curved shapes with tapered points.  Position the candy in and on top of the cake pudding mixture.  Scatter the remaining uncolored and colored cookie crumbs on top.  Position the clean, unused cat litter box scoop in the cake.  Place the pan on a sheet of newspaper or paper.  Serve immediately.  Store any unused cake in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

*I used regular Golden Oreos (not double stuffed).
