Cantarito Cocktail

Enjoy Vitamin C in this refreshing lime, orange, grapefruit, and tequila cocktail! Grapefruit soda gives this citrusy concoction a light effervescence, perfect for a steamy summertime day.

Ingredients

2 oz tequila blanco

1/2 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice

1/2 oz freshly squeezed orange juice

3 oz grapefruit soda (like Fever Tree brand)*

1 tbsp. salt (Kosher or sea) + 1/4 tsp. chili powder

Instructions

Combine salt and chili powder in a shallow dish.  Rim the top edge of a high-ball glass with a cut orange or lime.  Dip glass rim into salt/chili powder mixture.  Set aside.

Place all drink ingredients, except grapefruit soda, into a cocktail shaker filled 1/2 way with crushed ice.  Shake for 15 to 20 seconds.  Strain into high-ball glass filled 3/4 way with crushed ice.  Top glass with grapefruit soda.  Garnish with additional wedges of lime, orange, or grapefruit.

Notes

*Can’t find grapefruit soda? Shake together 1-½ ounces pink grapefruit juice, ½ ounce of simple syrup, tequila, lime and orange juices and strain into a high-ball glass.  Then top with sparkling water to fill the glass.
